Absolutely horrific experience, DO NOT STAY HERE. Bought room with travel points. On my checkout, my balance was $0 after paying with points. The receipt showed that as well. Upon arrival to the hotel, I was charged with $200 of hidden fees! They say that since it was booked through a 3rd party, these hidden fees weren’t shown on my initial online purchase with travel points. It was to cover the “full package” of staying with them, which includes extra perks. These perks include 6 plastic water bottles and a couple meal vouchers. NOTHING CLOSE TO capturing the value of $200+ of hidden fees. On top of that, nowhere did it show me that this “package” is what I was purchasing! I would’ve been fine with just the room and not the “extra exclusive package” that only includes water bottles and some pathetic meal vouchers. When you bring it up with the front staff, they hide behind printing out your receipt where in fine print it shows that it was booked through a 3rd party and that this 3rd party was required to communicate with us (which they never did!). If you’re gonna CHARGE ME $200 EXTRA under the premise that “a third party should’ve reached out to me” YOU BETTER MAKE it YOUR PRIORITY that they actually did that. So I had NO CLUE that this is what I was purchasing. To make it worse, they are VERY CLEARLY aware of this issue. Read the reviews. This has been a problem for a while now yet they are actively choosing not to fix it. This all screams of predatory pricing and financial scamming. It’s got to be illegal too. As a consumer, we have the right to know what we are purchasing. And then of course when we get to the hotel, we have no choice but to pay essentially. What other choice do I have? Absolutely awful experience. They take advantage of you by using fine print, poor communication, and dodge accountability by just saying it was “the 3rd party’s fault”. DO NOT COME HERE.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! *Update and response to owner* When I arrived at the property I was not the only one having this issue. I have NEVER had an issue with Priceline until then. Was this the cheapest rate that I’ve seen? YES. AND THE RATE WAS HONORED for $38 as I had it reserved. This HIDDEN $147 resort fee was unexpected. However as a customer, I book with the terms and conditions listed; and proceed to what I paid for. You as the hotel should have seen the influx in “Error” as you claim and reached out to Priceline so that your patrons would be aware of any such additional fees. Especially since there were a plethora of guests experiencing the same issues. This is straight negligence on your Hotel management side. Supervisors at Priceline informed me that you didn’t share any additional fees due at checkin with them—which is why it was not displayed on their 3rd Party site. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and it doesn’t fall on Priceline it falls on you for omitting information to Priceline the hotel 3rd party servicer then forcing an additional amount knowing guests would probably just pay due to convenience. I’ll be submitting a report to the BBB for these negligent and unethical practices. Review: I got this hotel room on a Priceline Express Deal and the total was $38 ONLY NO DESTINATION FEE OR ANYTHING! Great deal right?….wrong… upon check-in, they charged an additional $146. BEWARE!!! THE front desk guy was very nice. However, the room was below standard. Wallpaper coming off, Bathroom smelled like rats...it was a mess! It looked like they were trying to be upscale but just weren't quite there. The Breakfast buffet was alright. The lobby looked fine, but the rooftop bar was a mess. I wouldn't pay more than $100 in high season. It was just odd. It did not feel clean or fresh. Please beware about the extra money you will be charged if you try to check in there. Regardless of whether your reservation is prepaid or not. GOD BLESS ALL!!!
Booked through a 3rd party which was with my employer American Airlines. Always been very accurate on price. Said $78 out the door including fees and taxes. Get there and they said oh no you owe an additional $146 dollars. What another 200%? Wouldn’t budge on it. So look out. They will get you through 3rd parties. Stay way away from them. Now paying over $220 on a room that was supposed to be $78. Heard other people in line in front of me having the same complaints. At least they only have one ice machine on 28 floors. As you can read the reviews. Lots of people have the same problems and the management always blames the the third parties. Had no asterisk with lawyer talk. The disclosure just said one king bed room. Never would have come here. Stayed at the virgin hotel in downtown Chicago the night before and they did the same but only a $35 fee and they gave us a $25 breakfast voucher. And they are a way higher end hotel. Don’t believe any of the responses from these managers. Just stay away. I stay at a lot of hotels. Not an idiot. They will just blame you.
I booked this hotel for $35/night through a third party so I knew there would be other charges due to comparable other hotels charging $200+/night. When I arrived the front desk clerk was on the phone with an angry customer asking about room charges. The couple in front of me also complained about room charges. I did enjoy the hotel. Nice lobby. Big room. Big bathroom with marble and a nice shower. My charges were a $99 amenity fee and a $25 reservation recovery fee. Park is $75 for valet with in & out privileges. $58 for parking across the street or the option of up-loading a parking app. The amenities were free drinks which cost us $7. A breakfast buffet from 7am-930am we never ate and a $10 dinning coupon we never used. I might stay here again, but I wish there was transparency and guests were given a choice of alcohol packages or breakfast like most other hotels.
